I figured these days were best to revive this long dead journal XD So Happy New Year 2014 everyone! May this year be full of happiness for all of you ^^ Looking back at 2013, it was a great year full of opportunities and finished projects both in my studies and my job, but I won't bore you with that. Instead, I'll share with you a little recap of my cosplays this past year:

  1. Tamako Market: Tamako Kitashirakawa
  2. PuchiMAS!: Chihaya Kisaragi
  3. Neon Genesis Evangelion: Misato Katsuragi [revamp]
  4. Little Busters!: Rin Natsume
  5. Love Live! School Idol Project: Umi Sonoda ~ No Brand Girls Ver.

Cosplay2013 by Miyazawa-Lulu

As usual, not very complicated costumes, I'm afraid ^^; My time and money have been getting smaller and smaller every year, and while I'd love to do something bigger (or even just fixing a couple of my most complicated costumes for photoshoots), it's very difficult in my situation and I need to prioritize more important things >_< Anyway, and as usual, I had the chance to cosplay characters I really love and have a really good time with friends :3

As for cosplay projects in 2014, it's going to be even more difficult for me... because if all goes as planned, I'll be moving to Japan for at least six months starting April! I won't be alone, since my boyfriend and a mutual friend will come with me for the same purpose ^^ I'm in my last year of Japanese at my local Language School, but the level is so low I know I need to actually go there in order to get better and more fluent :3

Of course, that doesn't mean I'm going to abandon the hobby (I'd go crazy if I had the opportunity to go to Comiket and not wear any cosplay u_u), but since I can't take my sewing machine and materials with me, they'll have to be even more simple :_3

Before going, I'll finish my koinya-tan cosplay and have a photoshoot! (actually I want a lot of photoshoots before leaving, but my time's very limited now and every day it's getting smaller, I don't know if I'll be able to do everything I want to T_T) She's the lovely mascot of the Japanese pop culture Spanish portal I'm a part of, koi-nya, and she was designed by the amazingly talented artist and friend Ai-wa. Since I first saw her, I knew I had to cosplay her, so Aiwa was kind enough to give me her full design  I can't disappoint her! Also, all my fellow k-n editors are waiting for me to cosplay her since day one, since I'm one of the few cosplayers of the bunch XD

I really wanted to cosplay at Comiket again, and thinking about simple costumes that won't take much space in my luggage nor much money or time, I immediately thought of one of my favorite girls: the great genious Kurisu Makise (Steins;Gate) and the lovely and full of references gaijin otaku Susanna Hopkins (Genshiken). The fact that I've loved Makise-shi (and OkaKuri ) since I first watched the anime adaptation is not unknown, and when I finally watched the movie I thought the idea of a ヽ(*゜д゜)ノ shirt was awesome. When I saw she wore black shorts under that, I vowed to lose a few kilo, find a new (and hopefully not very expensive) wig in Japan (since last time I used my base Mikuru wig, which is too red and too short) and maybe even make MY FORK. I already have a similar shirt, so I only need to paint the emoji! As for Su, I've loved Genshiken for many years and that love got renewed while reading the manga and watching Nidaime. I thought it'd be funny if I, being a gaijin otaku myself, would cosplay her in Japan. Like her, I also love making references and spouting lines here and there, so I choose one of her simplest dresses and I already have similar-looking clothes and a suitable wig, so I'll only have to style it and make her hair ribbons :3 I also have a pair of blue circle lenses I bought a while ago, so I'll probably use it for both of them.

I've included three I'd also love to do this year (or at least one of them), but since I REALLY need to save for this journey, I highly doubt I'll be able to afford their fabrics and wigs, plus unlike Kurisu and Su they actually require a sewing machine, and I'll be leaving mine in Spain, so either I do them before leaving or... :_

And that's all for now, thanks for reading! :3 (I highly doubt someone will read all of this, though XD).
