After my first attempt at the Spanish WCS preliminaries, in which I failed so hard with a costume and a skit that were definitely too difficult for me, we drastically changed for this year. Chrono Trigger is, hands down, my favourite videogame of all times (no pun intended XD), and Frog is one of the most epic characters the world has ever known ò_ó And so this project started, to go with my boyfriend as Crono ^^

The head was a really difficult challenge and something completely new for me. I loved Tionniel's work, the best Frog in my opinion, so I followed a similar method (wire mesh structure and foam covered with felt and then with latex) with a few variations. I'm not as skilled as her, and it shows, but the result was more or less decent. I chose to make a moving jaw since that's something I'd never seen for this character and I figured it'd give the costume a little bit more of originality. The jaw was incredibly sensible to movement, which was good, but it gets crooked very easily (giving me a yakuza frog look XD), something that I hope to fix sometime soon ^^u

The sword was truly a pain: it was my first weapon ever, and it made me realize I'm not good at all with them XD There was a first attempt made with polyurethane foam, fiberglass and paper maché that looked horrible and ended in the trash can. A few days before the convention, my boyfriend made a new one for me with the same method he used for his Balmung sword. It looked ok since it was rushed, but it was such a lifesaver, and I love him very much for that ^^u The shield was also made with a wire and cardboard structure and then covered with polyurethane foam (again) but, apart from looking big and ugly, we realized that I couldn't have my two hands busy due to requeriments of the skit, and we left it home for future occasions.

The arms were a shirt made out of a very thin synthetic leather and painted with latex. The rest of the costume was more straightforward: the chest armor was made out of craft foam; trousers, belt, cape, gloves (did I mention that discovered that I HATE making gloves with non-stretch fabric? T__T) and sack were patterned and sewn by myself, and I made covers for the boots with the same fabric I used for the gloves, modifying them to make them more pointy so that they looked more Toriyama-esque :3

Overall, I more or less like the result even if it lacks polishing due to my lack of skills and trying new materials, methods and making things I've never made before. I learned so much with this costume and I'm happy I could cosplay this chivalrous and epic knight ^^
